If you get the “Database is read only” error when starting Pro Tools under Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating system, this is the fix: press “Windows key” and r key, then type %public% and enter.
You should get an Explorer open in the (usually) “C:\Users\Public” folder.
Rename the “Pro Tools” folder end create a fresh one with the same name. Start Pro Tools again.
You are welcome.
